Trip Overview:
Visit Kenya during the height of the Great Migration with tour leader Valerie Botta. Valerie was born in Kenya and worked as a bush pilot until moving to the US. She has led over 20 trips to Kenya. On this Safari you can expect some of the most highly sought-after wildlife hotspots in all of Africa: Amboseli National Park, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Loisaba Conservancy, and the Masai Mara. All accommodations are 4++ and 5 star properties: luxurious, and authentically Kenyan luxury tented camps. Fly everywhere within Kenya via private charter - all game drives, airport meet and greets and transfers etc. are organized for you, and every detail of the Safari is attended to.
Your Itinerary, in Summary:
Kick off your trip by spending a day with baby orphaned elephants at Sheldricks’ Wildlife Trust, where you’ll learn about the incredible resources being put toward protecting endangered wildlife and their environment. Then, head to Amboseli National Park to observe massive herds of Elephant coming to the marshes to eat and drink, and enjoy cocktails at sunset on a hilltop overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro.
Next, we’ll head north past Mt. Kenya to observe some of the most unique wildlife in Kenya, including but not limited to Rhino, Cheetah, Reticulated Giraffe, Leopard, and the elusive Gerenuk. Walk with trained rangers and their anti-poaching dogs, and learn about their conservation efforts that support the incredible biodiversity of the rolling plains. At camp, you’ll have time to book an amazing massage and go on a horse ride.
Travel to the Loisaba Conservancy, where you see leopards, lion and plenty of other animals, and swim in the lodge pool that overlooks the whole of northern Kenya. See Grevy Zebra, or meander past a river full of hippo on a camel ride with the Samburu herdsmen leading the way, and sleep in a luxurious bed under the stars.
Finish your adventure in the Masai Mara to observe the great migration on the banks of Sand River. Watch herds of wildebeest and zebra by the thousands cross the Mara River, leaping over crocodiles, and clambering up steep banks to be rewarded with the rich grasslands of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Opt to take a balloon ride one morning, and on your last evening, enjoy the candlelit bush dinner under the stars.
