Wine has been grown in the Cape since the late 1600’s and is at the forefront of both innovation and style when it comes to New World wines. Famous for endemic cultivars such as Pinotage and Chenin Blanc, the Cape with its Mediterranean climate and loamy lush soils, produces some of the finest quality moderately priced wines in the world especially Cabernets and Chardonnays. We visit between 3 and 4 wineries and custom design your day to take in walking, bicycle rides through the vineyards and lunch options which can vary from Michelin star unique restaurants to picnics under the oaks. During each stop, we’ll learn about how the combination of climate, soil and grape varietals create the unique wines for which South Africa is world famous.
